As a school counselor, I often assist students with their emotions and feelings. The calm down corner will help them have a safe place to process their feelings and understand different ways to calm down. The corner will be a safe place for students to go and will be a great resource for teachable moments. Many students become overwhelmed by their emotions, and being able to provide them with a safe place to process and decompress will be a great asset to my office. As a new counselor, this will allow me to connect with students and help them with emotional regulation.
