Working in the special education dept has its challenges. We service children not only in the classrooms, but in their homes, at library's or wherever we can. Computer access is not always available to some of our students. This is where we often have to get creative. I am hoping to get this computer so that we can meet the children where they are, both physically and educationally. Working in the classrooms or in the hallways on classroom assignments is an everyday occurrence. However, we often have to work with our home-bound students that due to health or behavior are unable to handle the rigors of a normal classroom experience. This computer will give myself and those of my team the ability to go where we are needed. Bridging the gap means just what it sounds like. We are always attempting to bridge the gap academically but what some do not understand is that we often bridge the emotional gaps as well. Helping a student prepare to function in life is as fulfilling as helping them graduate. Thank you!
