Feed the Brain at Scrabble Club
Funded Mar 11, 2024Thank you for your support for our students with the snacks and secure bins to store them in. Our students thrived in scrabble club. The excitement of the scrabble challenges sparked during each session. Our students grew in social skills as well as spelling skills. The fun and engagement was felt by all in the room, students and staff alike. The fear of making mistakes was erased and replaced with the confidence to try even when you're not sure. Our students and staff thank you. Your donation made a huge impact at W. C. Longstreth.
Thank you,

Cozy Up To a Book
Funded Nov 25, 2018I am eternally grateful for your generosity. When I received the cozy seating, Everyone that saw them instantly fell in love with them. I couldn't wait to set them up for student use. The 5th grade student were so thrilled. They immediately hopped on them with chapter books. They wanted to stay longer than their usual time slot to hang out and read. They students commented that they'd like to have cool seating in their room and that they would encourage their teachers to do a donors choose too. When I saw them so happy I realized that I needed to share the love. To be honest, my students were too heavy for the cozy cushions. I decided to allow our two pre school classrooms to utilize the cozy cushions. I gave each class three of them. They fit perfectly into their wonderful classroom environment and the students use them daily to read and relax on. Well it wasn't long before the kindergarten teachers saw them and inquired. It was only right that I share the remaining cozy seating with the two kindergarten classes. I gave them 3 each. Those 12 butterfly cushions have traveled to other parts of the building to reach our youngest most impressionable readers. I couldn't be happier. Your gracious gift has made an enormous and unexpected additional impact. What a ripple effect. Thank you a thousand times.”
