I currently teach at a school that does not have enough books for the students to read independently with. Due to the lack of resources, the books I teach in my teacher led small groups are not given to the students to put into their book bins. It is very detrimental to their learning to not have the the same books for both teacher led and independent reading. As emergent readers, the students need to practice with a book that has been introduced to them to gain confidence and become fluent readers.
