  • Colored Pencils Help the Information Pop for All Students!

    Funded Apr 1, 2019

Thank you so much for your support. My student population will benefit greatly from these materials. Colored pencils help highlight, illustrate, and even isolate information for better understanding. Colored pencils can offer a creative outlet for some students and provide an interactive opportunity for all students. Their notebooks will look amazing!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kelly

  • Measuring Extends Our Observations!

    Funded Dec 9, 2018

Thank you so much for providing my classroom with these tools. Getting outside is so important. Making observations out of doors is an activity that some people take for granted. In a urban setting using instruments these windup tape measures will help with taking measurements of lengths shadows and distances .

    We really appreciate your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kelly

  • How Clean Is This Brook?

    Funded Dec 3, 2018

It's wonderful! Thank you for your support of an environmental science hands-on experience. We will be well into our water resources unit when the materials arrive. I'll be sure to show you our experiments. Your support means a lot to the students. It will give them important laboratory experience”

Our students need to explore the world around them. Nature is available even in urban environments! This testing lab provides a hands on learning opportunity. It will provide pre-college lab experience. They will have to work as collaborative team members. Our students have the opportunity to sample a freshwater source and identify any contaminants. Our neighborhood stream is connected to the Hudson River and connects us to the world around us . This highlights the thread throughout the Environmental Science class that we all have to work towards a sustainable future and that there is no such thing as "away".
