  • Engineering for Learning

    Funded Dec 13, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! The building blocks and measuring tools add more variety to my classroom! Now I can use the building blocks and measuring tools to demonstrate Lean manufacturing. The magnetic tips can be used on the robot brain to help maintain the micro USB port from being damaged. It also makes it very easy to download the programs to their robots without having to place the USB connecter in every time. I now can just put the tip in the robot brain and leave it there and use the magnetic connection on the cable. I have some extra in case they get lost or damaged.

Instead of the charging/data cables, I received two Smart USB Chargers and two USB-C charging cables. The Smart USB Chargers will benefit my Drone teams to charge their batteries at competitions. Having a USB-C cable can be used for AI Vision sensors connect to a computer. They can also be used for other various USB–C devices.

Thank you again for your donations! My students and I really appreciate it!”

  • Trains for Coding and Spacers for Building

    Funded May 8, 2024

I would like to thank you for your generosity in providing my students with the Intelino smart train, it's accessories , and the spacers. The smart train will be used in various project activities for my computer science students and the spacers will be utilized by my robotics students.

The Intelino Smart Train and accessories will be used in a stationed cross-curricular lab allowing students to code the train to do various things at specific locations on the tracks. They will learn about historical events, locations, and coding along the way. The train will make the station lab interesting and engaging for my students!

My students are very grateful for having these spacers. The spacers will be used in building their classroom robots and their competition robots. It is always good having plenty of robotic building supplies available for my students!

Thank you again for your help in making this possible! With your help, my students will have a great learning and building experience.”

  • Robotics Building Supplies

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

I would like to thank all donors for their generosity in giving to my project. As soon as the motor parts were unwrapped, they were used immediately. Prior to this project, we had several motors that needed repaired. My students were glad to have access to additional parts!

The notebooks will be used to document their engineering and design process. Now we will have some to start out the new season. Being successful in documenting their work can propel them to the State Championship and possibly to the Worlds event.

The blue motor cartridges have been placed in the complete motors that were purchased. One of the uses for these motors is a fly wheel. Fly wheels are a popular feature for this season's game. Several students wanted to make this with the blue cartridge motors because these blue cartridges have a higher RPM.

My students are very grateful for having these new motors, blue cartridges, motor parts, and zip ties. It is easy to overlook what might be needed for preparation to a robotics competition. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

  • STEM - Robotic Engineering Parts

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

I would like to thank all donors for their generosity in giving to my project. As soon as the V5 Clawbot Structure (Aluminum) sets were opened, the students started building. The structure was designed for use in building the Clawbot; however, I can use the materials in multiple ways.

They were glad to have the structure because we were running out. My students can easily use this equipment as they see fit for their robots. Each robot is different and can be modified depending upon the use or task that the robot needs to perform.

My students are very grateful for the V5 Clawbot Structure. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity! Thank you”

  • Tools for Robotics

    Funded Dec 22, 2022

I would like to thank all donors for their generosity in giving to my project. As soon as the pliers were unwrapped, they were used immediately. Prior to this project, we only had two pair of pliers in the toolbox. My students were relieved to know that they did not have to wait to use a pair.

The thumb drives were a needed asset to our program. We had to move their robotics programs from a desktop computer to our laptops. Having these thumb drives helped us get those programs moved. They are also very handy with we need to have an extra copy of the programs when we are at a competition. Students will modify their code during a competition. If something goes wrong, we will have the code they can use as a backup.

The wired mice we received is also a big help using our laptops. When coding, they have to use the track pad on the laptop which can get rather cumbersome. The wired mouse helps out with the "dragging". We like the wired mice because if they were Bluetooth, they could get lost during transporting them from school to the competition and back. It's easy to get in a hurry and leave something behind.

My students are very grateful for having these new pliers, thumb drives, and wired mice. It is easy to overlook what might be needed for preparation to a robotics competition. Thank you again for your generosity! We really appreciate it!”

  • It's all about the Robotics Parts

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donations! Thank you for replacing bent and broken materials with brand new replacement parts and for providing us with the engineering and design notebooks! Because I start the year with new set of students, they will be able to benefit greatly!

My students are eager to put together their robot for both classroom activities and competitions and events outside the classroom. These parts allow us to build the favored robot for this years competition. The notebooks are a great resource for students to document their engineering and design process!

    Thanks again!”

  • More Tools for Robots!

    Funded Apr 28, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donations! Even though I did not receive my tools, I did receive two 5-tier mobile carts which are extremely helpful in organization of our robotic parts. They were very excited to get these because it allows the equipment to be stored out of the way.

I had a couple of students put the carts together so they could organize the equipment.

Because the carts are mobile, they can be moved and stored in a storage closet for safe keeping! When my students come into the class, the just pull the carts out into the classroom and everyone can pick out the parts they need to build or adjust their robots.

    Thanks again!”

The T15 Torx Screwdrivers are extremely useful in my classroom. They can now build more efficiently and have their own screwdriver instead of sharing with other teams. All of my teams have been building their robots and preparing for their competition and now can have the added advantage modifying their robot as needed instead of waiting on another team. My students were pleasantly surprised to see these new screwdrivers and immediately asked if they could keep one in their toolbox! I was happy to tell them yes! You have helped my class to be more efficient and be more sanitized! We really appreciate your generosity. Thank you!”

  • STEM - Robotics Engineering and Design

    Funded Jan 6, 2020

The new robot we received is a great asset to our robotics class. Because of the number of students in the class, I was able to provide a robot to help motivate a student who depended on other students to build and code. They were excited to have a new robot because it meant that they could have smaller teams and have more opportunity to work in smaller groups.

Having this additional robot has helped to build confidence levels and teamwork. The student that initially did not know how or have a huge desire for building now has started building and taking responsibility of the workings of the robot. Another student who really depended upon others to develop code for their robots because of confidence. I have asked that student to create the code the robot autonomously. He now has been successful in creating the code to score multiple points in a competition setting just by taking charge of coding.

We are now focusing on competition skills to improve our performance by having classroom competitions to prepare for a state competition. It is really exciting to see the students start having a desire to perform and take charge of the projects. Thank you so much for your generous donations!”

  • Quiet Please! We Are Engaged with STEM Technology!

    Funded Mar 24, 2019

These headphones really have helped in all of my classes. Most students do not have headphones or earbuds that can connect to a computer or an iPad and this will be the perfect fit for those who need a headset. We can now use an interactive textbook online, watch tutorials for various subjects, Khan Academy for SAT practice and other websites that have videos without interrupting others in their learning! They will also benefit all of my future students as well! Thank you so much for the headphones!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

When most students think of programming, they think of setting behind a desktop computer and it might be difficult to learn. With the use of iPads, we can operate the Sphero Sprk+ using the educational app provided or use them with Apple Playgrounds app for coding to learn swift programming. The Sphero Sprk+ will be used to get introduced to programming, create competitive challenges, and collaborate with each other to develop soft skills needed for the workplace. The students will be exposed to math and physics concepts in a new way. It will bring what some people call “boring” material to something that is exciting and creative! I brought my personal Sphero SPRK+ to school to show them the capabilities of what it can do and it really made them excited to try and investigate how it worked. Interest in Computer Science and progressing them to the next course in Robotics is the main goal of this project.
