These magazines enhance the print rich environment which I strive to ensure. Their use allows for reinforcement of skills such as; annotating, recognizing main idea and details, plot, responding to text, symbols, icons and traditions, as well as a host of other language arts and social studies standards. The students enjoy receiving their own individual magazine which they can read, mark, and take home to share with their families. Every month students receive weekly nonfiction print on different themes and topics, as well as having the ability to watch a video in class to motivate their interest in the issue.
