Each student will have a 1 inch binder, which house references and resources individualized for each student. This will promote independence in the classroom. The table will have a caddy that holds pencils, markers, crayons, erasers, Kleenex, highlighters, rulers and other materials. These materials will be readily available which will minimize students needing to ask for materials, and not having any of their own. In turn, this will help the class and lessons run more smoothly. Dry erase boards will also be used for quick comprehension checks, which will allow me to collect data continuously throughout lessons. Additionally, each student will be given Play-Doh, which will be utilized as a brain break! Materials such as Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer will be used to eliminate germs and keep my students happy and healthy! These materials will help students succeed in the classroom and teach them personal responsibility, because the materials will be their own. Materials will be used daily to ensure that math lessons run smoothly and ensure that students are actively participating in their own learning. Throughout the year there will be creative projects centered around math and their knowledge, and these materials will ensure that my students will have everything they need. These students come from communities where resources are scarce. However, I do not want that to limit their potential and ability to succeed this year in the classroom and beyond!
