Break It Remake It Puzzle Time!

I would like to send a big thank you from the children in my PreK class @ PS 160 in the Bronx, NY. The children were super excited to receive the new puzzles. They had since mastered the simple 4-6 piece puzzles we begin our school year with. I must say that these puzzles of 1-12 pieces were a challenge that some of the children were not sure about. But with support and encouragement from the teachers and each other the children were all in.

With persistence and guidance the students dived in and meet the challenge. Some children needed a reminder as to which way to hold the board once the pieces were removed so the teachers placed a T for top so that the children knew where to place the first piece. With these little clues the children felt more encouraged and began seeing that they could and would be able to complete the puzzles.

The teachers walked around and provided lots of support at first but now the children are able to complete the puzzles with ease. We have since put out other sets that we received and the students are pros at it. We plan to challenge the children with floor puzzles that have up to 25 pieces. Let the problem solving continue!!!!
