"Creative thinking inspires ideas, ideas inspire change." - Barbara Januszkiewicz
Makerspaces are community centers with tools to create. Students will have multiple opportunities to use their creativity in full motion through a Makerspace and STEAM learning center. All of the materials, including the Makey Makey, Magnatiles, poms poms, and much more, will provide a platform for students to think of a project they would like to create using a variety of materials that this project will provide. A Makerspace center allows students to use their 21st century and STEM skills while promoting creativity, critical thinking and, of course, FUN!
When I took a professional development at CUE Rockstar and first learned about a Makerspace, I knew I wanted to try to create one in my classroom. It would be great if I could explore this idea and show the amazing things created by students and then watch the idea spread to my team, eventually throughout my building, and then, hopefully, to my entire school.
Who doesn't love building and creating? The best part is that students can choose what they would like to create according to their interests with all these wonderful materials. Let's give these amazing students a chance to see their creativity in action!
