Mad for MacBook Air!
Funded Mar 2, 2022Words cannot express how grateful I am that this project has been funded by YOU! Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity during these times. I am always astounded by the generosity of others, even during these continued trying economic times. I cannot thank everyone enough for this extremely generous donation.
This project has improved my professional live dramatically. The faster access to resources with updated technology has made it possible to complete paperwork more timey, access district resources more efficiently, and be more organized and efficient overall. With working in a fast paced educational environment and managing a large caseload of students, it is imperative to have access to efficient resources to allow for increased productivity and organization.
My students have benefitted during supervised use of computer to complete web-based typing tasks, perceptual tasks, and flash-based interactive tasks (especially for any online students) that have been easier and quicker to access with updated technology. They have been more appreciative and caring with tangible objects by seeing new items being introduced into sessions with the continued help of Donors Choose and donors like you. Online students have benefitted by smoother connections and less disruptions and glitches, leading to more productive sessions leading to improved achievement of IEP goals.
I cannot thank everyone enough who has contributed to this project. You inspire me everyday. Thank you to Donors Choose for creating a network of positive, supportive individuals who are champions for public education.”

Funded Jul 17, 2020Words cannot describe the joy that Donors Choose brings, especially during these trying times. I cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity in supporting this project. This project has made working from both home and school so much easier. Now, when I work from home, I can set up an additional camera to help my students with their activities for the day. The tripod setup has made my iPad more effective as an additional camera and I don't have to worry about the camera being out of alignment.
My students appreciate all of the work donors choose affords them. They love seeing all of the new items that have been acquired for every project. Again, thank you so much for your generosity. I will always be forever grateful!”

Funded Feb 20, 2020I cannot thank you enough for the very generous donation to my therapy room. Before schools shut down, we were able to use the items for a short, yet amazing period of time. My students absolutely loved using their new writing tools, papers, and especially the stickers. They have come in handy more times than I can count! These supplies are items that will never go out of style and are always useful. I cannot be more gracious.
My students love to do anything crafty. When they first saw the items, they immediately wanted to do hands on activities and did not even think about using electronic items such as the iPad or Promethean board. I love it when students get excited about using non-electronic items!! Paper and pencil skills are so important and are slowly becoming a lost art. It was so refreshing to see my students actively enjoying new scissors, crayons, and paper.
Although we are all in a strange time in our lives with life as we know it temporarily closed, I know that I have amazing items waiting for me and my students the minute school is back in session. Thank you again for the amazing items.”

Glorious Games Promoting Fine Motor and Visual Perception Skills!
Funded Oct 30, 2019I cannot thank everyone enough for the generous donations for this project. This project has changed my students' world. They absolutely love coming to see me every week to play with something new. The best part is that they don't even know they are working on such important developmental skills!! My students have learned to use distal grips in preparation for pre writing, improved upon visual perception abilities, and learned to work together to play fun, educational games.
I cannot thank Donors Choose enough for this amazing opportunity. Every day is like Christmas. Every week my students and I choose a new activity to engage with is a gift I never thought I would ever get to experience. Affording my students with these opportunities brings me such indescribable joy. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Oct 9, 2019I am SO very thankful at the generosity presented to me by this project. My students require a lot of external assistance in order to be "ready writers" in their main classroom setting. All of these items have vastly impacted my students upon first use! The wobble stools have already provided my students with the concentration and focus necessary to participate in structured tasks. They love using their tweezers to sort items in preparation for functional hand grasp. My students love receiving new items that can help them grow. I am so thankful for these items!! Thank you so much!”

Funded Jan 12, 2019I cannot thank you enough for this donation. I am so overwhelmed with the support that I have received from Donors Choose and the community in general. I cannot describe the joy on my student's faces when they see all of my new items in my room. All of my students this week have been beaming with delight at the opportunity to do something new. I have already noticed a change in my younger students, as they are more eager to participate in more challenging, fine-motor based activities. My other students that are difficult to engage with overall have suddenly become very excited to engage in games rather than paper and pencil tasks. These products, in the short time that I have had them, are changing my student's lives. My students want to work on more challenging tasks because they are now perceived as fun and less stressful. Developing these fine motor and visual perceptual skills are so important; especially at an early age, and will help them throughout their lifetime.
I am so grateful for this donation. I really cannot describe the joy and the love that I feel inside. I am even more humbled by this donation because it came from my own community. I cannot thank you enough. I really have no words to describe this emotion. I am better at what I do because of wonderful people like you who are here for support, and who believe in public education. Thank you so much.”

Creating a Sensory Friendly Oasis for Sensory Seeking Students
Funded Nov 16, 2018Words cannot describe the feeling of joy that I am overwhelmed with by the funding of this project. Thank you SO very much for contributing to my project, and, more importantly, contributing to the greater impact of my students. Since receiving these project materials, I was able to separate my classroom into two components: a sensory and a fine motor/handwriting area. The sensory area is right when the students walk in, so they can engage in calming activities (via mat and teepee, as well as other items we already have in our classroom) before they are required to sit in the fine motor/handwriting area. This has made a massive impact on my students, as they are able to fulfill their sensory systems before engaging in structured tasks, making them more successful at their activities for the day. My students love using all sensory items provided to them from this project, and, more importantly, they love coming to OT more knowing that these items are there for them. Thank you again for this incredible donation. This has been truly life changing.”

Funded Oct 17, 2018I cannot thank you enough for supporting this flexible seating project for my students. My school was SO excited to hear that we were receiving these seating options to improve students' attention. When my classroom was first set up with these new chairs, my students could not wait to explore them!! Some students even helped me in assembling the chairs and blowing up the yoga balls. They were so excited to help!
From the first full day of using the chairs (last Friday), I have already seen an impact. Students who absolutely HATE sitting at the table to complete structured tasks suddenly became interested in sitting at the table. The children immediately understood that they could expend energy using these chairs and still sit at the table and work. Most children have even sat down at the table to work without prompting, which is a huge milestone for most of my students. Just today, November 1, 2018, my students asked me if I still had the chairs- I told them of course! They couldn't wait to run upstairs to my room and sit on them and complete work. Yes, they couldn't wait to complete work while sitting on the new chairs! Two students today completed the best coloring I have ever seen them do, and I believe it is all due to these chairs. My students now want to complete table top tasks, and I couldn't thank you enough for affording them this opportunity. When we left my class, my students thanked me for allowing them to sit on the chairs, and even said goodbye to the chairs!
I hope the continued results of flexible seating options will begin a mindset change in my schools- kids need movement! These chairs afford my students healthy expenditure of energy without demonstrating disruptive behavior. I hope that I can spark the interest of incorporating more flexible seating options in ALL classrooms in my school to help students everyday. I am so thankful for the funding of this project. You have truly helped my change my students' lives.”
