The reading of high interest books will encourage and further a lifetime love of reading and improve their success in life after high school. Our school media center has largely been dismantled in favor of computers for on-line learning. Meanwhile, students still crave reading a book that grabs their attention. Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him. –Maya Angelou We will have many occasions during the four years, that I am mentoring this small group of young adult, to foster a love of reading during our sustained silent reading time.
