Flexible Learning for Flexible Brains
Funded Jun 22, 2023This project has given my students options for learning and working in the classroom. We have been using the boards daily for math and phonics. The students get so excited every time they see the slide in my PowerPoint that means get dry erase markers and get ready to work on the boards! This project provided the materials needed to use and support these boards and the work. I love that the materials I received can also be used in future years as well.
When my students first started the year, they were excited about the whiteboards, but they hadn't seen all of the materials. There were many squeals of joy and anticipation when I started showing everything that I received for us to use with the boards.
Something I love about my classroom this year is that I have even more options for flexible work during the day. The students have used the materials for independent work and group work. I also use the board as a place to teach in a different spot of the room.
I truly appreciate your support in belief in my teaching and work with my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hodge

Funded Jul 25, 2023Thank you for supporting my classroom. Your donation allows me to give my students new opportunities and a way to learn new things without hesitation. I appreciate knowing there are people that may not know me, but value education and teachers. My job is easier because of people like you.”

Creating and Learning Through the Eyes of a Child
Funded Jan 1, 2019My students are enjoying the Legos every morning! Since I've received my Donors Choose box, I have taken away morning worksheets and allow for morning choice and creativity. The students use creativity, talk with each other, create stories for their buildings, and have fun together. I have also seen some of my lower level students light up with excitement and are so proud of what they have created. The Legos have changed the start of our day and it I look forward to using them for many years to come!
WeDo 2.0 combines Legos and coding. Students have various options of items that can be constructed. Then, using the app, students code the robot to move and make noise. Using the bot and app, students are learning to collaborate, code, and manipulate a robot.
I cannot thank you enough for your support to this project in my classroom. We use the materials on a regular basis and I know that my students will benefit and enjoy for years to come!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hodge
