To foster 21st century skills and promote college and career readiness, I utilize Schoology and OneNote Class Notebook, online learning management platforms. I can post a variety of materials including, but not limited to, assignments, notes, videos, questions, and articles. Because many of my students do not have internet access outside of school, these Chromebooks will be available for these students to access the resources in class and during tutorials after school. The Chromebooks will also help provide in-class interventions for students who have fallen behind due to absences or other difficulties. A blended-learning structure gives students control over the time, place, path, and pace at which they complete assignments and allows us to plan and implement more project-based learning. My students come to class each day with the cards already stacked against them. Donations to my project will purchase vital technology for my classroom, which will provide my students with the educational opportunities they are currently missing. Chromebooks will allow me to differentiate and extend my instruction and will allow students the same blended opportunities, regardless of their access to technology at home. It will help foster independent thinking and problem solving strategies in my students that will bolster their current academic performance and support their innovative futures.
