My students have special needs, and our class is a life skills class at a public school in Texas. Some of my students have been diagnosed with Autism ( a disorder that affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills ). As a special needs teacher, I have to continuously identify their needs and provide resources to meet those varying needs. I also have to create Independent Education Plans that will be targeted at those needs. Some of my students are non-verbal, therefore I work with diverse tools to empower their 'voice'.
