It is very difficult being a first year teacher trying to buy as much as possible while on a budget. I spent my money my first year buying necessities such as tissues, scissors, glue, disinfectant wipes, pencils etc. My students would benefit from a couple bean bag chairs to use during small group time. The only options I have for my students are desks and many need a change in environment in the classroom, that I am not able to provide yet. I want my students to be comfortable during transitions and more free time to move around the room. I am in need nice privacy folders. Mine are not sturdy and it causes many distractions during assessments. The easel is extremely beneficial for morning work and whole group lessons. If I had an easel I could display information to my students in a closer setting, while being on their level without the concern of teaching to all of my students from their desks/Promethean board.
