Research has shown that students are more successful when they have a comfortable and desirable place to work in the classroom. By providing flexible seating to students, they will be able to redirtect their energy in respectful and resourceful ways. Students will use the balance balls and wobble chairs to complete their work in their seats while also exerting additional energy and movement in a respectful and quiet manner. Students will be able to bounce and roll on top of the balance balls while other students may find wobbling and balancing on the chairs to be more beneficial for them. Either way, the seating allows the classroom to maintain a comfortable work environment for all students. Flexible seating allows for students to move in their seats by bouncing, wobbling, leaning, rocking, and balancing which directly correlates to young minds being more alert and focused. This arrangement also allows for students to have a choice in their seating and control of their environment. Students will also learn how to take care of community supplies. Flexible seating is not a right, it is a privilege. Students will learn how to respect classroom furniture in order to continue having this privilege in the classroom.
