Getting Techy
Funded Feb 28, 2019Wow you all are just simply amazing. My students are loving their new iPads. The iPads are used mainly during their center time where they can work on reading or math. They like to play games to unlock stories, or facts. They do not even realize they are learning. I love being able to use these iPads for students who need a little extra push. I can set up games and activities to different levels to accommodate each student.
The students love being able to use the iPads period, they don't care what it is for. Since I work at a title one school many of the students do not get to experience technology outside of school. So the fact that they can get on the iPads and grow in their education is amazing.
Each students face lit up when we opened the boxes of iPads, they couldn't wait to get on and explore the new items. I love that I can excite and engage students and I am still learning all the fun features these iPads have to offer. We can't wait to continue to grow together!”

Flexing for Seating
Funded Oct 8, 2018I just want to say thank you so much for making my flex seating vision come alive in my classroom. The students are loving their new seating options. Just to give you a little glimpse of how flex seating is being used in my classroom, every morning at about 8:10 the students get called one by one to pick a seat for the day. The students pick new seats everyday and all the seats are a hit! The students love being able to pick from a variety of seats instead of sitting in the same blue chair every single day.
The students were so curious when the boxes started rolling in and when we finally got to open them they were beyond excited. They even helped me blow up the yoga balls and put together the bean bags. These students needed these seats for many reason, but just seeing a smile come across their faces reminds me why I did this project.
I have seen improvements not only in behavior but also in their academics which just goes to show this project was a perfect fit for my class. They have become more independent, trustworthy, and focused. My next project is another one to get students even more engaged! I am trying to bring technology into my classroom. Technology is so big in today's society and my students minds need to explore beyond pencil and paper!
Again I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for supporting me and my students. My students love everything that comes from these projects and I can't wait to continue to watch them grow!”

Surfing Into Second Grade!
Funded Jul 25, 2018Thank you so much for funding my project so my students can have a fun engaging year full of learning. My students favorite item from the project is the yoga ball seat. I will definitely be looking into getting more of these for more flex seating since it is such a hit. Seeing how I have all boys, the yoga ball is great for their wiggles since they have so much energy. At any point during the day I see the boys bouncing on the ball and doing their work, making it fun and effective. My favorite item is my pencil sharpener because it is a necessity and makes my life and my students day so much easier. I also love my kidney table because it gives me the opportunity to pull students who need that extra one on one help and allows them to work at a place without extra distractions.
I got most of my materials before my students arrived so I had everything set up for meet the teacher night. The blue kidney table was a big hit because they all loved the color blue and they all were just like "that is so cool." They also were very curious to what materials were in the organizer where they found pencils, cubes, dice, glue sticks and many more materials they are able to use in class throughout the day. All the students are loving each piece of this project and are just as thankful as I am!
Like I previously mentioned my next project is going to be looking into more flex seating. The boys are so full of wiggles, and energy that the standard seat is just not cutting it for some of them. Along with flex seating I have been looking into kanoodles or other gadgets/ sensory activities early finishers could work with, to help them stay focused on themselves and not distracting other students, along with not being bored. I can not thank each and every one of you enough for helping making my classroom come to life, and donating so I can make my class the best it can be!”
