All of our students want to see themselves in books. Most importantly, they want to see themselves in all walks and facets of life. My hope in building a diverse library is that students will not only see themselves in a variety of formats, but will also spark conversations about diversity, equality, and the power of "yet." With the addition of these books, all students will not be able to see themselves in the stories, but will also be able to have conversations with their peers in which they share their experiences, ask others questions and grow alongside each other.
