  • Creative Math and Classic Sewing Projects!

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations! All students deserve the ability to be creative, take risks, and learn resilience through arts and academia.

By incorporating craft into math lessons, the STEM field becomes more accessible to all students and new paths are created for success.

Furthermore, as many of my students will be the first in their families to pursue higher education, the ability to connect timeless techniques with modern technology is essential for balancing family traditions and new possibilities.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by Young Sheldon and 6 other donors.
  • Sewing Machines for Geometric Quilts!

    Funded Aug 29, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations!

Without your support, our Title 1 school would never be able to offer such exciting opportunities to students.

The sewing machines have enabled students to learn a new skill, build a new community, and find a purpose in their school day.

Particularly for our students who have academic or social struggles, sewing is a new pathway that allows for social or collaborative work that fits in to many different learning styles.

Thank you again and please know your donation is greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies and 2 other donors.
  • Calming Carts for a Creative Classroom!

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations! These carts helped to greatly increase the organization in my class. We are able to share materials, easily move the carts between classrooms and help all of our students.

The mediation materials are essential for creating a calm and regulated classroom environment. Many of my students come to school every day from a home environment that is chaotic. Having the reliability of our calming classroom materials is a wonderful step for our students in preparing for their day of learning.”

  • Entry Mural: Celebrating Our Community and Environment

    Funded May 10, 2024

Your generous contribution has encouraged wonderful artwork and teamwork for our students. The high quality paints and painting materials will ensure that these murals will adorn our school for years.

Working during the summer and school year, students designed, painted, and touched up a series of beautiful murals. They were incredibly excited to use the new supplies and asked to express their gratitude to all who donated.

This project has helped sparked interest through our entire school in beautifying our hallways and classrooms.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by Young Sheldon on CBS and 15 other donors.
  • Math and Mosaics!

    Funded Jan 28, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous gift!

With the supplies for this project, my geometry students were able to design and create their own custom stamps, then use their designs to practice transformations on the coordinate plane.

Using translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations, students utilized real world application to understand the connection between art and math.

The connection between hands-on artistry and intense mathematical formulas bridged the gap between STEM and creativity. My students are so excited to continue this project in the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by Happy Planner and 2 other donors.
  • Geometry Takes Center Stage

    Funded Jan 27, 2024

Due to your generous gift, my students were able to create dynamic spaces using geometric principals. Using the materials, tools, and support from your donation, my 60+ students designed and presented mathematically accurate scale models.

They were so excited to be able to complete a real-world math application problem that highlighted the skills and calculations they spent all unit perfecting.

They combined their creative visions with the precise formulas we have studied all trimester, and had an intense sense of pride when displaying their work.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

  • An Organized Classroom is a Productive Classroom!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom! This has helped us so much in improving our classroom organization.

Having more storage available makes all of supplies much more accessible and allows all of our activities run more smoothly. My students have remarked that they feel calmer with a more organized classroom and these additions to our class make it much easier to work.

The funding for this project will help our classroom for years to come. The materials from this grant are a huge upgrade for our nearly 100 year old classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by The Allstate Foundation and 3 other donors.
  • Give My Students 'Acute' Unit Project

    Funded Aug 21, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our project! This project helped my students connect real locations they have visited with the concept of math design.

Working with angles, paints, acrylic, and math brought our calculations to life. Students who are normally reticent about geometry were able to express their vision and their understanding through this project. My students were excited and grateful for the support to our classroom.

Utilizing new materials helps restore a sense of excitement to the classroom and builds student investment. This project kept my students on their toes and helped them feel like math is applicable to their artistic goals.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

  • Making Rugs, Making Math Connections

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project! This project allowed my students to incorporate tactile learning into the normally 2-D ideas of geometric transformations.

The small rugs they were each able to make and take home will serve as an ever present reminder of the way in which math is part of our every day lives. As students are still adjusting to the routine of school, engaging projects like this one help to spark interest.

Once again, your donation has meant the world to my students and has helped my classroom remain engaging!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by The State of Oklahoma.
  • Meet Maslow's Basic Needs! Classroom AC is a Game Changer

    Funded May 7, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to help fund our Air Conditioner.

It is so repulsively hot in Oklahoma and my students could not concentrate without an AC. Many of my students are coming to school each day as a reprieve from an unstable home and the hostile environment created by the heat in our classrooms was just another struggle these young people had to face.

I know an AC can seem like such an inconsequential thing for a classroom, but it has truly made all the difference in the world in terms of showing my students that they do have people who care about their success.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lance

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors and 3 other donors.
These materials will enable my students to design a full color tessellation tile that draws on our knowledge of polygon geometry. Students will create, measure, and analyze their individual tiles and piece them together with classmates to understand how to build a larger geometric pattern. Students will use their math analysis skills to calculate the area of each polygon in their design, while utilizing their artistry to select complementary color schemes and build a class wide mural. We will discuss how essential measurement skills are to artistic traditions of the world, including beadwork in Indigenous communities of North America, and tile work in the Moorish temples of Spain - both of which highlight patterns and community cooperation.
