Some student's fear of math gets in the way of them learning math. I have found that students that don't like math so much often enjoy reading. The book, "The Number Devil - A Mathematical Adventure" is a quirky adventure about this little boy who "The Number Devil" comes to in his dreams and helps alleviate his fears of math. The boy, Robert, soon discovers that the number devil can teach him tricks and a little saying that help his math anxiety. The hope is that like Robert, my students fears will become excitement for math. I have themed my classroom and school year based on this book. My colors are Red and Black. I would like to assign projects through the year for these higher-level learning students based on "Th Number Devil".
