My students need an inviting space to come together to listen to stories, dance to songs, and learn! The numbers along the outside of this rug are perfect for helping my students form a circle for our morning meetings when we greet each other, share, and sing. The alphabet letters provide each student their own spot to sit when they all need to be focused towards the front of the room. This rug will make transitions to seated positions on the carpet much easier! Coming together as a group throughout the day helps the class grow as a community. Preschool is an important time to learn how to work together, socialize, and understand other's thoughts and feelings. What better way to do this than to join together on the carpet for whole class activities? Lastly, I can also use the letters and numbers on this carpet to help teach and reinforce these important early learning concepts.
