  • Sensory Tools for Emotional Regulation

    Funded Aug 28, 2024

Thank you so much for your support. You could have supported any teacher’s project but you chose to fun mine and for that I am eternally grateful. The supplies that you bought for me are vital to my day-to-day teaching practice. The play-doh and water timers do an amazing job helping students feel calm and centered. It helps get their brains ready to learn, making both their and my day go smoother.”

  • Sensory Supports

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you so much for your support! The extra back jacks have been very useful. The students love them and it really helps students with sensory issues to feel calmer. I would love to get more in the future but right now I will settle for what I have.

The students also love the water timers. Other teachers have commented on how much calmer their students feel after looking at them as well. It helps them teach emotional regulation skills and self-awareness, as well as giving students with a low-attention span a much deserved break after they have been working.

Thanks again for your support! I literally could not do it without you!”

  • New Year, New Sensory Tools

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much! Students love the sensory tools so much. It really helps them relax and manage their energy. The noise canceling headphones are EXTREMELY popular and I definitely think I should get more pairs.

I have a lot of special needs students who need extra support in terms of behavioral management. The play-doh and water timers also are great tools for helping out students who struggle with emotional regulation. Unfortunately, both students and I have dropped the water timers and broke them, so it is extra important that I stock up on them, as they often do not make it to the end of the school year.

    Thanks again for your support!!!”

  • Curing the Wiggles!

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. The students have greatly appreciated the sensory tools that you have helped me acquire. Some students are very bouncy and have trouble focusing as I teach my lesson, and I find giving them a stress ball has been very useful in increasing their focus.

The sensory tools have also been great at helping students learn how to manage their emotions. Students have been introduced to the calming corner and learned how taking a break can help us manage our emotions. I have a fidget bin with various choices. The sensory tools you helped purchase are among the choices for the bin. Sometimes, when a child is not regulated enough to make the choice and ask if they can use the fidget bin, I will give them a fidget with the option of using it. I have found that, even if the child cannot skillful access the verbal part of the brain, if given the option they will take the fidget and soon after they will calm down and be ready to return to work.”

  • Beautiful Bins

    Funded Sep 24, 2022

I have attached photos of just a fraction of my menagerie of bins in my classroom. However, the larger colored bins, much like the one you helped me buy, help create order and reason within this giant sea of storage solutions. I teach 23 different classes, and sometimes and responsible for five different materials set up each week. I need to quickly know where things are so I can load up my cart quickly in the morning.

Some of my projects require multiple bins of different supplies so the color coding system is VERY useful when students need to know where things are. Pencils? Green bin. Scissors? Clear bin. And so on and so on.

I have gotten compliments from other teachers on how organized my supplies are, which I'm sure my father will never believe given the state of my bedroom throughout my childhood. However, it is true and I am very grateful that you have been able to help me keep my supplies and brain organized.”

Please give the joy of smoosh to my kindergartners! My students need Model Magic to help develop their hand strength and hand-eye coordination. It will also help them to make connections to their science curriculum and will seriously brighten up their day because it seems like it is all some want in life! My kindergartners are asking me time and time again if they can have clay but it is so expensive. I really would love to have Model Magic because it is less messy on their hands and our classrooms. I currently don't have my own room so Model Magic is great for me- easier to transport from class to class, no dust and no mess to leave in my hard working peer's classrooms.
