Funded Oct 22, 2018The students were excited to know they would be able to create a Lego Mindstorm and have it complete various tasks.
We started with having them instruct the Mindstorm, with a pencil attached, make circle, a square and a rectangle. The most challenging for them was the rectangle.
The students were instructed to direct the Mindstorm to complete small tasks, but most were not able to get them to perform perfectly.
The last objective the students were given was to have the Mindstorm complete a path on the floor with turns and circles. They had a week to work on this and still had problems. One team would seem to excel for a moment, then something would go wrong.
I teach summer school so the kids asked if they could come in and work on it while I'm teaching. Anytime they show enthusiasm for something I'm all in. So this will be the project for the summer.”
With gratitude,
