  • Social Butterflies at Harry Bridges

    Funded Nov 3, 2022

In the last few months, my students have fully enjoyed the boardgames and tactile friendly games! To say that they were excited to receive such a donation is an understatement. Similarly, the staff in my classroom have also witnessed the impact your donation has made on the students. Students that typically prefer the computer or laptop are now asking for games like Hungry Hungry Hippo and Mouse Trap.

At the end of each day, students are given the opportunity to build student-to-student turn taking skills, communication and leadership skills. We are grateful for your contribution and have witnessed the skills learned through these opportunities.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ordonez

    Funded Jul 4, 2018

Since the start of this class and project, my vision has remained consistent in that my hope is to bring our students and this community closer through means of technology. I am incredibly grateful for your support and monetary donation in ensuring that my students have access to materials needed in my technology class. With this said, my students are engaged, focused and now more than ever, driven. The use of the tripods brought a different element to this project. My students are learning 21st century skills and integrating this project with their families and greater community.

Access to the tripods has created an easier avenue for them to bridge the connections between themselves and their community. I am grateful for your support and look forward to showcase my students projects in the near future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ordonez

My students need tripods to photograph and video record their daily lives and community experiences. Currently my students have limited access to technology supplies and with your contribution, they will have the opportunity to create photograhy and video projects to share with their school, their family and their community. My hope is for my students to take the skills learned in my class and apply them in this ever-growing field of technology. My students experiences, voices and concerns are typically overlooked however, this ongoing project, including the use of tripods will provide them with a tool to produce higher quality projects! I am beyond excited for them to showcase their talents and their outlook of themselves and their community through this project by exploring the option of hosting a school art exhibit.
