STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four main areas; science, technology, engineering, and math. We use an interdisciplinary and applied approach by integrating the four subjects and working on our educational program based on real-world applications. PBL (project based learning) is a student- centered approach where students learn subjects by solving open ended questions collaboratively and engaging in real life experiences. We have seen how students acquire a deeper understanding through exploration and real world challenges and problems. If students are interested, invested, and engaged, the learning possibilities re endless. The full length lab coats we have chosen will allow the students to feel like real life doctors, and scientists as we learn about the human body. The microscope will allow them to examine plants and insects. The globes will allow students to work in groups to explore animals all over the world. Imagine a students wearing a lab coat and examining slides under the microscope as they are determining the differences between reptiles and amphibians. Students will also get hands on experience with brain and heart models to they can really understand what makes the human body so fascinating.
