Technology is such an awesome learning tool. This past year we wear blessed with Chromebooks to make our class a 1-to-1 classroom. My students used them for everything from reading skills/comprehension, math practice, and all the way to researching for their expository text on a favorite animal. The Chromebooks were an awesome resource for my students. Our district; however, did not the funds to purchase headphones to go along with the devices. Some children were able to purchase their own headphones. While I purchased about 20 pairs from Dollar Tree, for the ones who could not afford them. The problem began while their busy minds where working; the students begin to chew on the cords! When this happened the headphones would stop working. Our phonics and math programs require audio for students to hear sounds and learn new concepts. So many of my students are unable to afford headphones, let alone Bluetooth headphones. When their headphones would stop working I would try to get more, but most of the time I had to move them to the hallway so they could listen to the speakers on the Chromebooks. That is not the best learning environment for young children. This is why I am asking for your help. Thank you for taking the time to take a small peek into the classroom and considering funding our project. Thank you again!
