Bridging the Gap
Funded Aug 19, 2021Words can not express how grateful our class is for the generous donation from the donor. Our project was to improve multiplication fluency. We were able to accomplish this through playing multiplication fluency games such as the Bingo one that was given. The students were able to strengthen their multiplication fluency which was a weakness that was evident on the fall diagnostic testing. The students were able to work with each other to improve this through playing the fun Bingo Multiplication Game that was donated to the class. The students are now fluent in their multiplication tables thanks to the game as well as other hands on activities that were donated such as the puzzle matching activities in which the students had to piece together multiplication facts correctly. The students now think that Math is fun and are not frustrated like they were in the beginning of the school year. They felt so overwhelmed from the effects of the pandemic. That is not the case now thanks to the games that were donated. The students were shocked that someone would actually give them games to help strengthen their math skills. We are now going to work on other games that help strengthen other math skills such as fractions. Room 111 is so grateful and will never forget your help during this tough year back to the classroom full time!”

Funded Aug 19, 2021This project has made an impact on my students' learning. When it first arrived, they were shocked and so happy to receive materials to help them with their Math skills.
They thought that the materials were for other students and could not believe that there was someone out there that was so generous and caring towards them
The pandemic has caused a gap in their learning especially in the area of mathematics. Their test scores in the beginning were a demonstration of this. The donation has helped them strengthen their weaknesses in multiplication through allowing them to practice the skills in a fun way with all of the games that donors chose sent. They are able to practice their multiplication facts with each other through bingo. They are able to practice their multiplication facts with hands on activities that came such as puzzle activities in which they match the parts of the equations together. Math has become their favorite subject and they are now fluent in multiplication facts thanks to donors chose.
The next steps would be for the students to play other games that were provided on skills such as fractions and higher order addition and subtraction.”

Funded Oct 23, 2020Words can not express how grateful my students as well as I am for the generous donation that you made to our class at Thomas Holme Elementary. The students are now able to have centers that will help strengthen the skills that they are week in due to the pandemic. I have seen growth in their fluency due to the center that was provided. The students are also growing in their knowledge of multiplication facts due to the fact centers that were donated. The reading centers helped the students feel that learning is fun and motivates them to complete their work so that they can work on a reading and math center.
My students were shocked when they first saw all of the centers that came in the boxes. They could not believe that they were for them. They couldn't wait to work with them. I showed all of them and introduced each one which caused excitement.
Our next project with the materials is to use the small group materials that have scripted lessons and wipe off activities to practice skills related to the math and reading standards.”

Funded Oct 27, 2018Words can not express how many support your donations have accomplished
in my classroom with my students reading and math performances. Many students have jumped up 2 reading levels and maybe even 3 through the use of technology.
Students that could not even get on right away are now able to do so. Students who have been on Lexia were able to read independently through the use of the intervention daily, thanks to your technology donation. I want to express my gratitude again and appreciate your impact in the life of a child's education.”
