Many of the student in my classroom are on medications for health reasons and are not fully able to express their feelings as to why certain things are happening. to add fuel to the fire my students also have to eat lunch early (10:15am) in the day so by the afternoon they are hungry again. As many of us know from our own hunger, if we are hungry, we are unable to fully focus, have trouble sitting, get frustrated and eventually shut down. By simply adding a snack during the afternoon, they would be able to focus and learn so much more to close out the day!
