  • Money Matters Market: Exploring Financial Literacy Through Play

    Funded Mar 29, 2023

Implementing a financial literacy project in your classroom, funded by generous donors like yourself has profoundly impacted my students. This project provided opportunities for my students to apply financial concepts in real-life scenarios, helping them develop practical money management skills that are applicable to their daily lives. Financial literacy activities like this one helped my students practice critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students engaged in scenarios that required them to analyze information, make decisions, and solve financial challenges. The impact of this financial literacy project helped develop practical skills, responsible attitudes, and the empowerment of students to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.”

  • SEL Buddy Benches

    Funded Jul 1, 2023

Buddy Benches have had a significant and positive impact on our school community, especially one with 1200 students spanning from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. The Buddy Benches serve as a visible symbol of inclusivity and friendship. Students feel encouraged to include others who are sitting on the bench, fostering a more inclusive school environment. Secondly, the Buddy Benches facilitate spontaneous interactions among students, leading to the formation of new friendships across different grade levels. Students who use the Buddy Benches are developing and practicing social skills by initiating conversations and interactions with peers they may not have otherwise interacted with during regular school activities. Lastly, the introduction of Buddy Benches has contributed to the establishment of a positive school culture, emphasizing kindness, empathy, and cooperation among students.”

  • Earth Day, Every Day!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

The project "Earth Day, Every Day" has had a significant impact on my students it helped promote environmental awareness and sustainability on a daily basis. Students heightened their awareness of environmental issues, understanding the importance of sustainable practices in their daily lives. They grew more conscious about reducing waste, conserving energy, and making environmentally responsible choices. Some students felt so empowered they took action and contributed to positive environmental changes like picking up trash during their recess and lunch.

The project gave students the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences, such as planting succulents, reusing shredded paper for art projects, and recycling water bottles. These practical experiences deepened their understanding and connection to environmental issues.

Our project extended beyond the classroom, involving parents, teachers, and the broader community. Students helped promote sustainable practices. This created a more comprehensive and lasting impact. It instilled a sense of pride and accomplishment in my students as they saw the tangible results of their efforts to make a positive impact on the environment.”

    With gratitude,
