Get 6th Graders Glowing!
Funded Jul 14, 2022I wanted to share the excitement my students have had with all of our Glowing materials.
The first time my students walked in and saw all the glow games and materials they were so excited. Many thanked me at the end of class for allowing them to do the activities. Most did not want to leave because they were having so much fun!
We are using the materials in various ways. On review days, we get our "Review Glow On" by using the chalk markers to draw out concepts on the tables as we review. We have also had "Glow Games" to review class materials and on reward days to reward good behavior. Glow games include different game stations that students participate in. The stations contain materials that were purchased through Donors Choose. Students can answer questions to play the games.
The next plan for the materials is to set up Stem Stations as a part of "Our Future Glows." Kids get to learn about different STEM careers at the Stem stations. Hopefully this will have a life long impact and encourage kids to have a career in STEM.
This project has already got my students glowing about 6th grade!”

Funded Dec 24, 2010Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the laptop you purchased for my classroom. I have been able to use this technology to greatly increase student learning. The students have been so excited with being able to use the laptop.
My original goal was for students to be able to use the laptops to record student data we collected during our rollercoaster races. Students have also been able to use the laptops to create Glogs, finish homework, create PowerPoints, conduct research and more. The laptop has allowed me to provide students who lack technology at home an opportunity to finish work at school. Your generous gift will impact the lives of future students as well.
Our next project will involve a forensics study where students will use the laptop to research blood typing, and work through a tutorial on blood typing. These hand on experiences are completely made possible because of you. Thank you for making learning possible for all students. ”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pecco
