I am planning on creating a bright and comfortable learning environment. I will purchase a bright colored rug and various flexible seating. Flexible seating will include floor seating, wobble chairs and bean bags. The bright colors will create a sense of joy and abundance which has been proven to increase attendance, promote a feeling of safety at school and raise test scores. Because my students come in a wide range of ages, sizes and physical needs, they require a variety of seating options to fit their bodies and promote optimal learning. My students will use the various seating options when I am teaching whole group lessons such a direct instruction Reading and Math. They will also be used when students are working in small cooperative groups and working independently.
