I am committed to creating a classroom where students feel welcomed and excited about coming to school each day! I recently changed school districts and am looking to add these materials to my new classroom. I am excited to greet my new class with awesome experiences so they can become lifelong learners, like me! Adding these new items to my classroom will help me create an organized and engaging classroom community where kids are excited about coming to school! The auditory whisper phones allow students the opportunity to hear themselves as they read. This direct focus helps students build phonemic awareness. Directly hearing the sounds improves the ability to recognize and distinguish the sound structure of language. We use the phones for activities such as blending, identifying and manipulating sounds. When students are ready for reading text, the phones allow them to hear themselves as well as read aloud without disturbing others in the group next to them. The stools will help me create inviting reading spaces in my classroom that will motivate students to work on their independent reading. They will also be used to create collaborative work spaces for students to work with their peers. The microphone will be a fun addition to the classroom. I have many fun ideas for student engagement and this microphone will help me set the stage to engage my learners! The dry erase pockets are a great tool for reusing materials in our small group math and literacy centers by allowing them to be reusable with dry erase markers. The literature organizer is a way for me to effectively organize student materials in a purposeful way!
