  • Bright New Exciting Things

    Funded Aug 1, 2020

We are finally back in the building and it has been a long road but we are here. My students were so excited to see their care package as soon as they opened the pencil case. Entering the class room ready to dive in with using the items and not having to worry about not having what they needed. This was possible all because of you all.

During our writing sessions it was nice to see them pull out their new pens and write what they were feeling on the first day back in the building. One student wrote how it felt good to be back and even better to have these cool items.

Thank you so much for your generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Graham

  • Better Guided Reading Experience

    Funded May 28, 2020

During the shut down we had a lot to learn and try to still ensure that we gave and did everything that we could to help our students. Ensuring that our students still had guided reading was a huge factor. The book that I received helped me to develop better guided reading for my students to keep them on grade level during these crazy times. With having all my work books in my classroom and not being able to get in for any resources these books really helped me out. I'm so thankful for all of the support that you continue to show me and y students. It truly takes a village to help with the development of children.”

  • Student Supply Packs!

    Funded May 18, 2020

With us doing things all remotely, I completed contactless drop-offs to each of my students houses. They were so excited to get the supply packs, it was different not being able to see them and take picture like we would normally do, but we are all hard at work working everyday. They are using the pencils and pens in their writing and math classes every day and then converting it onto the computer. It's such a drastic time that we all had to get used to but they have done it with flying colors. Again thank you for all that you did for my students.”

  • New Books Are Always Great!!

    Funded Mar 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation with this donation you have helped my students get newer books added to their library. These books will keep my students engaged and help them continue to fall in love with reading. I couldn't be happier with the amount of support that you have shown my students.”

  • More Graphic Novels Equals a Happier Reading Time

    Funded Jan 8, 2020

These new amazing books have helped my students learn start developing to love reading independently. When it's time to exchange books they get very excited because they already know what book they wanted next. It has even unlocked their imaginations to think outside of the box. These books have allowed everyone to feel like they are on the same reading level. With having such a mixed class of students on completely different reading levels, these new books allow everyone to feel like there are in the 4th grade and on the same level. The conversations that happen about the books are just amazing to listen to. Thank you so much for your donations they have really made my students and my library very happy.”

    With gratitude,

My students have a designated reading time throughout the day and love to read graphic novels. Currently we have six graphic novels for my class to share. Having more of a variety of novels will ensure that every student is reading and will even decide to read when they have some down time after assignments. My students are happier when they are reading graphic novels. They are more engaged and willing to write more about the novel. They use fidgets to stay focused as well as enjoy the scent of aromatherapy in the background while they are reading. For fun I allow my students to use the dry erase markers and boards to make pictures to go along with the novels.
