These materials will help the science come alive as my 6th graders work collaboratively to explore space. Since the science standards have changed, we currently do not have a science kit for learning about the solar system. These items will allow my visual and hands on learners the opportunity to see and feel as they learn. This is so much more effective when learning science as compared to reading copied articles about the solar system. The model of the solar system will allow a visual representation of mass and distance. The model orbiter will be essential in explaining revolution and rotation. The space exploration books will be awesome resources for research projects.
