  • Printing and Creating

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your continued generosity. The resources you have so kindly funded will greatly impact my students! With ease, I can now search for resources online that will keep my math and science students engaged with student choice. And with colorful paper, I will be able to differentiate choices for all learners!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Speziale

  • Attracting to Experimental Design

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

The materials and Manipulatives you have graciously donated to our classroom has already made a huge impact. I am pushing my young scientists and engineers to think of their own questions to experiment with. What better way to begin this tedious task than by using magnets. With such a variety that has been donated, my students have been able to discover things they haven't thought of before, and begun to develop questions to explore. This is just the beginning of our process. Going forward, they will develop engineering style questions and discoveries, and be able to answer their own questions. Thank you again, for everything!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Speziale

  • Building Bridges

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you so much for your support and generosity. I am always so honored to have donors support and encourage my students to learn. Without your help and funding, we wouldn’t be able to be as engaged and creative as we are, so thank you so very much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Speziale

This classroom project was brought to life by Con Edison and 3 other donors.
  • Snapping Our STEAM

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous contributions! My students are going to be so excited to take ownership of their work and take their own photos! The cameras you helped purchase, along with their accessories, are going to engage my students whenever we tackle our STEAM projects, science investigations, and exploratory learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Speziale

This classroom project was brought to life by The SONIC Foundation and 6 other donors.
  • Look for the Night Sky!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you again for your kind and generous donations! My students really love seeing bright colorful posters of the solar system and constellations that we are learning about in Science. Giving them another opportunity to view what they learn really helps my English Language Learners too. The students love using the motorized solar system, which is used as an incentive for completing their classwork. Our next unit will be looking at relationships in ecosystems, so I plan on asking students what materials they might think of that can benefit their learning for this topic. Again, thank you for your help!”

    With gratitude,

  • Mysterious Minds of Fourth Grade Readers

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

Your kindness and generosity is so appreciated by our entire class. They are going to be so excited when I share the good news! Thank you again for helping me encourage my students to become great readers and writers. The new mystery books will surely enhance their abilities to generate fantastic mystery stories!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Speziale

  • Tales of Fourth Grade "Somethings!"

    Funded Aug 6, 2018

Thank you so so much for the generous donation to our classroom! The children LOVED "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." What's great is that many of them had read other books by Judy Blume and were familiar with some of the main characters, especially that pesky Fudge. I've noticed some students on their second read of the book already.

We were able to incorporate the reading and comprehension skills that were taught in our school's reading program into the novel study you helped us build. Skills like story structure, setting, and idioms were all easily found in Blume's book. I was even able to incorporate her writing craft into a writing lesson! Students analyzed how Blume wrote the lead to each chapter, and used some of those skills to enhance their fictional narratives.

Thank you again for this generous gift. Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Speziale

I am looking to enhance the students' learning by teaching them how to apply the comprehension and inferential skills they learn with our curriculum materials into the stories they read on their own. By having a class set of books, they will able to learn how to use those skills alongside my teaching, which hopefully will carry over everything they open a beloved book. "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing," by Judy Blume, seems like a rite of passage for an elementary grade student, and what's more fitting than reading it as we enter the fourth grade?! My students will love this exciting tale, which they will be able to relate to.
