STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Today I am requesting items to fullfill the engineering and some art gaps that I have within my classroom. Some of these items include building blocks, magnetic tiles, magnetic cubes, magnetic career people, legos, building sticks, and also much needed art supplies! In addition, I am requesting an active learning chair to use during these STEAM station rotations. These wobbly chairs are great for students who need to wiggle as they learn! You will also see that I have requested storage containers to keep all of these activities well organized. Having a well kept classroom adds to a smooth and effective learning environment. The STEAM items that I am requesting are going to get my students down on the floor and learning with their minds and hands! These STEAM stations are used at least three times each week. My students love the opportunity to invent and create. Not only do they use their higher level thinking and fine motor skills, they also use their speaking and presentation skills. They love to build and share with the class what and how they have created! This project will help my students achieve their personal learning why and how goals.
