Headphones: as Tools for Learning!
Funded Nov 29, 2023Thank you. Thank you for making our learning time with technology just a bit easier! My Donors Choose project was for 50 pair of headphones. I shared them with other classrooms in our primary building so the love is being spread about!!
We have students whose personal headphones have 'bit the dust' and we have many families unable to afford a new pair of headphones. This gift will be used during assessment time when it's most important for everyone to have access to headphones and also during classroom learning time.
Your generosity and kindness is much appreciated!”

Funded Feb 14, 2023This project is a success! Our class has lots of new books! Lots of refreshed reading energy! Lots of sweet sharing and discussion amongst friends!
Most of these books are nonfiction. The kids are rattling off facts and writing notes in their journals! They are taking our new books home for the night to share with siblings and parents. They want to reorganize our classroom library to make a special spot for their new favorites!
Thank you for helping to instill the love of reading with the love of books! What great joy!”

Keeping Current With Scholastic News
Funded Sep 14, 2022Thank you so much for supporting my students and for bringing Scholastic News to our classroom! Scholastic News is so much more than just a weekly nonfiction news source. Scholastic News brings an exciting world to our classroom. It is packed with high interest topics in the areas of science, social studies, and social development for all to enjoy.
What we love most about Scholastic News is how it incorporates other interests and breaks into our day! The online option offers an introductory video focusing on the main topic of that week, along with interactive games, vocabulary focus, and fun activity pages. It even has a weekly dance break song!
Cheers erupt when I pull out the Scholastic News or project the online resources up on the screen. It is truly a fun highlight of our day! I feel so lucky as we engage in this learning tool. The kids are truly loving this learning time, thanks to your support!”

Funded Jul 17, 2019Thank you so very much for your generous contribution to my students, their learning, their need for reading, and for our classroom. The adorable reading/storage bench is the perfect setting for our reading area. It is a perfect height for 2nd graders and the easy to clean padded seat cushion makes for a comfy sit.
The children were so excited when the large box arrived and we opened it together. We discussed its purpose, its durability, and our need to be respectful and responsible with it. As you can see in the photos, it is a loved piece. The reading bench is in constant use. We relax and read. We share and communicate.
Our next task is to purchase some sturdy book boxes and brand new books for the storage area. This will keep our reading area intriguing for young readers with the hopes that a love for books and reading will continue onward.”

How Many Letters in the Word Math?
Funded Feb 14, 2019Thank you so much for the generous gift of learning! My students were so very excited when we opened the boxes. We immediately set up centers and their minds began to grow! The whole room was focused and inquisitive as they read directions, manipulated learning pieces, and interacted with their peers. The constructive chatter was music to my ears!! The learning materials that we received are durable and will intrigue many young minds for many years to come. Your kindness is greatly appreciated!!”

Funded Feb 14, 2019Thank you so very much for the kind act and generous donation to supply my classroom with this awesome table!
We all just love it! It has brought a new sense of 'study' to our small group lessons. This table has a white board top enabling us to use wipe off markers on it. It cleans so easily and is so smooth and shiny! Everyone wants to show me how to solve the problem, how to write the word, or how to explain their thinking.
When the table was first delivered to our room, the students helped me rearrange our desks and other tables to make room for it. They took ownership in having helped find its special spot! We admired it. We sat around it. We loved talking about it and what we could do on it. Then we talked about how to take care of it. With a wipe off marker board top, we need to take great care not to scratch it. The students are taking on this precaution with full force. They definitely want this table to be just like new at the end of the year.
Once again, thank you so much for this generous gift to kids!”

Funded Oct 17, 2018Thank you very much for the generous gift for my classroom. This gift is bringing comfort, focus, and options to the students and their learning. They are a great work station for completing seatwork, reading a book, working on a chromebook, or just for taking a break during discussions.
My class was so excited when I shared the news about our new standing desks and so anxious when we were putting them together! Because everyone wanted to use them all at once, we had some good discussions take place. I modeled how to use them. We then practiced how to use them, and established some ground rules before any behavior issues took over. The kids are so intune and aware of the correct way to use them. Our standing desks are used daily and with quality learning taking place.
These 2 desks are used so much. They are easy to manage, comfortable to work at, and and co-workers have asked how they are working out for us. I have a feeling that our students will be enjoying standing desks in other rooms, too!
Once again, thank you so very much for your generosity. My students are benefiting from your kindness.”
