  • LEGOs to Spark Creativity and Encourage Critical Thinking

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation of LEGOs for my students. Your support will spark creativity and imagination in the classroom, providing endless hours of learning through play. The students are incredibly excited to dive in and start building amazing creative creations thanks to your kindness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCormick

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT and one other donor.
  • Germ-Free Creative Environment

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of sanitizing wipes. In my classroom, where messy techniques are aplenty, these wipes have been a lifesaver. They have allowed my budding artists to dedicate more time to their masterpieces while keeping them clean and protected from germs. With 850 students passing through my class weekly, creating a germ-free environment in a limited time frame has been quite the challenge. Your donation has truly made a significant difference in our learning space.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCormick

This classroom project was brought to life by A family that cares about Boston.
  • Chihuly Organic Glass Sculpture

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you very much for funding my art project. My students will be excited to create glass-like sculptures and I can not wait to see their faces when they see their plate slowly melt and transform into beautiful artwork. It is awesome that you enable educators to expand the minds of their students through your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCormick

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 3 other donors.
Students will study American artist Dale Chihuly and his glass artwork. They will view other glass artists and learn how glass is created. Students will observe the transparent and organic characteristics of glass and become aware of how it is used in creating interesting and fascinating artwork. By funding this project, my students will be able to imitate the qualities of glass sculpture without any of the dangers of working with the glass medium. They will create radial designs using colored permanent marker on clear plastic plates. After their artwork is complete their plates will be baked in an oven at a low heat level which will melt and transform their plate art into organically shaped sculptures.
