I am currently teaching at a lower performing school in an inpovished nehiboorhood where 95% of my students receive free or reduced lunch. As a result of this my school receives a limited budget and lacks certain resources that can help facilate instruction, such as sufficient numbers of text books. Due to large class size, my students don’t have enough books to support instruction in reading and math. With a document camera in my classroom I will be able to project the text book material during read alouds and during instruction. Not only will it allow students to interact with technology, it will help save on making copies, which will be environmentally friendly.
