Revamp the Art Room!
Funded Jul 23, 2024We are almost two weeks into the second quarter of the school year. It has flown by to say the least! We have accomplished so much in this amount of time. Thank is in part thanks to you. All the money donated to Donors Choose has made it so I'm able to have fresh supplies. Students are able to create freely without the worry of running out of something. I've been able to allow more building time with the extra magnetic tiles and Legos. Students LOVE coming to my art room and I couldn't do it without your help. Thank you!”

Blacklight Art Party
Funded Nov 20, 2023Wow what an amazing week! My students and I had the the most creatively fun time with our glow party. It was messy and worth the clean up! The new materials introduced this year and the extra decorations took the party to the next level. The students faces as they walked into my transformed room were priceless. I can't think of a better way to end the first semester of school and I know my students agree. Thank you for helping me give my students this experience. It's one in a million and helped cultivate so much joy. I appreciate you!!!”

Creativity Through Drawing and Building!
Funded Feb 8, 2023I am very appreciative of all the donations that helped make this project happen. These were all items that helped us create many projects at the end of the school year. The paper was used for drawing, painting, and mixed media. The sharpies are something my students use almost daily. Since I see so many students, they can dry out quickly. We were able to make it to the end of the year with what was purchased! The Legos were also a big hit. Adding to our Lego collection helped students be able to save their work. I had a group of fourth graders that worked on a whole village for weeks. Seeing them work as a team was inspiring. Thank you for assisting me in helping my students be their most creative selves!”

Funded Apr 10, 2023Thank you for helping me end our school year with an amazing project. When I told my students that the project was funded and they got to try acrylic pouring they were so excited! Then I told them they each got to keep the project as a keep sake from our wonderful year together. Each student took their project home with pride. It was a messy fun experience that I plan to continue each year with my fourth graders. I appreciate your contribution to this special project. It was definitely a highlight in the school year!”

Revive Broken Furniture And Add Exciting New Tools
Funded Nov 28, 2022I am humbled by the donations that made it so we could have new materials. Thank you for caring about my students! The biggest improvement has been the new stools. Students are able to sit safely at their tables without worrying that the stool will break. They are comfortable for my Kindergarten students all the way to my forth graders. We've just started experimenting with the new tools. The older students love the 3D scribbler and crayon melting device. I'm excited to try this with my art club and younger classes as the school year progresses. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Watching students create and explore art is my passion, you've helping fuel that!”

Combined Literature With Art
Funded May 19, 2022We are four weeks into the 2022-2023 school year. I'm four weeks into this new choice art program and the students are thriving! They love coming to my classroom to make and create. All K-4 students are enjoying the books. I've been reading to my class but I also have bins of books for students to use as references. One picture is a student making a connection between an artist we learned about and picture in a Lego book of something he can build. His excitement was contagious! Students are using the books to teach themselves how to draw, they are working in groups to figure it out together. This is why I teach this class. These kids now have a place to use their imaginations, create, build, work together, and use their hands. THANK YOU for making this possible for my students! The best is yet to come in this class!”

Exploring Through Making
Funded May 15, 2022We are four weeks into the 2022-2023 school year. I'm four weeks into this new choice art program and the students are thriving! They love coming to my classroom to make and create. All K-4 students are enjoying the Legos and Magnetic Tiles. I'm surprised daily by what they build! Their imaginations are astounding. Just today I had two students that were laughing and smiling because they built a house in a house with the magnetic tiles. This is why I teach this class. These kids now have a place to use their imaginations, create, build, work together, and use their hands. THANK YOU for making this possible for my students! The best is yet to come in this class!”

Snacks to Fuel Our Brains!
Funded Jan 6, 2022Thank you for the amazing snacks to fuel our brains! It was like Christmas morning in our classroom when all the boxes of snack arrived. We had some big smiles, squeals, and cheers. The students were extremely excited to know that they will be able to choose their snacks each day. Today we opened an assortment box and let students pick from the box. The pictures show how happy they were! The snacks really help get us through a long day and hold them till they eat lunch. Our bellies and brains thank you so much!”

Funded Aug 14, 2021We can't thank you enough for the new toys, art supplies, and STEM materials for out classroom. We opened all the boxes with our students. The look of pure joy on their faces was priceless. There were even a few squeals and lots of clapping.
Our students are able to use these materials every Friday for "sharpen the saw" time. That means we work hard all week and Friday is our day to celebrate that. We also keep a 100% jar in our room for when the whole class is doing the right thing. Once they fill up the jar with the puffs we use for counting, the students get to vote on what activity they want. Most of the time they vote to use all the "sharpen the saw" materials!
You have helped us make our classroom more joyful during a crazy school year. It was a hard transition for our students to come back into the classroom. These materials give them a break and an outlet. So thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Technology Upgrade
Funded Mar 13, 2021As we close out the school year I am reflecting on a year of virtual teaching. It's definitely been a year for the books. It's taught me how resilient and adaptive our students can be. I have learned not to take a hug from a student for granted.
When I found out I was going to be the only second grade virtual ELA teacher for the last quarter I was overwhelmed. I was doubling the number of students and three quarters of them were new to me. That's when I decided to make my first donors choose. I feel so lucky that you all donated and helped me make my last quarter of virtual teaching go as smoothly as possible.
The second monitor was a game changer! I was able to see all my students, my lesson plans, and show students slides of the lessons all at the same time. While they did independent work I could catch up on attendance, logging behavior, and get the next part of the lesson set up. I saved time everyday, which resulted in more learning. The faster internet devise was also helpful. I was able to play videos faster and I didn't lag often. I can't thank you all enough for your generosity! THANK YOU for helping me end the year strong.”
