Funded Jul 30, 2019Thank you for helping my students become better readers. You all provided my students a subscription to Scholastic News Magazine for kids. Every week, we open up our non-fiction magazines and learn something new about the world around us! Each month, we get four magazines that focus on issues or our history. The students get to be readers, scientists, and mathematicians, as we open up our magazines. We learn new information, collaborate on topics, and comprehend what we learned. Every week is an exciting week when we get to open our new magazines.
Another donation went to organizer bins to support the learning of reading in first grade. The organizer bins have provided me with places to hold our paper, sight words, and reading tools. Almost every day I test my students on their sight words to promote reading and word recognition. These bins have helped organize our classroom with the tools we need.
Thank you to all you have done for my first grade students. Myself and the students greatly appreciate you learning about our story and promoting young readers and learners!”

Ms. Ruffoni
First Grade Classroom "Firsts"
Funded Aug 22, 2018I am so thankful for you and your funding in providing these learning tools for my amazing first grade students. These materials are supporting academic growth, social emotional growth, and positive behavior reinforcements in our classroom. The day I received my materials, the students walked in surprised and very excited with the news. Since this was our first Donor's choose package, I wrapped each material for the students to open. Our school has limited tools and opportunities so many students couldn't believe these were given to us from people across our country.
All of these materials play an important role in our classroom every single day. The learning time calendar is used every morning to start off our routine morning. This helps our students warm up their brains with math, language arts, and the daily calendar. Other materials like the whiteboard sheets and color dots have allowed us to participate in art integration within our subjects on a daily basis. Truly all of these donations have transformed our classroom environment by and I'm so thankful for you all taking your time to read about our classroom and supporting these young but powerful learners.”

Funded Oct 31, 2018I am so thankful for you and your funding in providing these learning tools for my amazing first grade students. These materials are supporting academic growth, social emotional growth, and positive behavior reinforcements in our classroom. The day after I received my materials, the students walked in all surprised and very excited. As I explained the purpose for all of our new learning tools, smiles did not leave their faces. Our school has limited tools and opportunities so many students couldn't believe these were given to us from people across our country.
All of these materials play an important role in our classroom every single day. The engineering/building stations are helping our curious minds every Friday during our MTSS time. Every Monday we read a new scholastic news article that is giving our youth information of what's going on throughout the world (they absolutely love the magazine and online games). Last but not least, the table and chairs are a positive behavior system. Our "helper of the day" gets to choose a partner to sit with them at the flexible seating table if they're on task and making positive choices. Truly all of these donations have transformed our classroom environment by and I'm so thankful for you all taking your time to read about our classroom and supporting these young but powerful learners.”
