  • A Classroom Library That Will Create Lifelong Readers!

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous donation to our incredible classroom! My students will truly discover the joy of reading thanks to you. Their days will be filled with more joy, more wonder, and more magic by virtue of this project being funded. I can't wait to share their happiness, enthusiasm, and growth with you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. M.

  • Time for Kids and Weekly Reader

    Funded Sep 2, 2010

I just can't thank you enough for funding my project! Your donation is literally bringing the world to my students. They love reading and keeping their Time For Kids and Weekly Readers! They read and reread these magazines while it is such a struggle for me to get them interested in reading, in general. The articles really inspire great classroom discussions that ultimately play a role in their personal development as thinkers and as people!

My kids look forward to reading our weekly magazines all week long. Your donation will put smiles on their faces while inspiring them to be leaders in the future. You are wonderful people and please know what an important contribution you have made to young kids who really need these materials. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. M.

My students are wonderful, smart, funny, interesting, and always yearning to learn new things. They each struggle with learning disabilities and behavior disorders. While teaching them to read is often a struggle, the rewards are well worth it. Often, my students are teased about being "special ed." I have made it my mission to spread the truth about intelligence and learning differences throughout our school community. I openly discuss with my class how important it is for the world to have people like them who learn and think differently. After all, don't we owe all of the most important and amazing inventions and discoveries to those people who think and learn outside of the norm!? During a school year, my goal is for my students to internalize that they really have "exceptional learning." I would rather teach my students than any other children in the building. They are the most sensitive, interesting people I know. I don't let them forget it!
