  • Flexible Seating for Students with Disabilities

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so much for funding my flexible seating! My students will be forever grateful for your generosity and it will impact students for years to come. Students in poverty deserve the same opportunities as students of high socioeconomic status and due to your contribution you are equalizing the playing field!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shubat

  • Flexible Seating for Students with Disabilities

    Funded Feb 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students love all their new flexible seating. Most typical days in my classroom nearly 90% of my students are on some type of flexible seating. This project was a great addition to the minimal flexible seating we already had.

A couple months ago we received your donation, when my students first saw the new chairs they had a lot of questions about where they came from, we talked about Donors Choose and who funded our project. They are so thankful that you chose our classroom to fund. These seats will continue to be used hopefully over the next 10+ years impacting numerous Special Education students with all different learning styles and needs. Thanks again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shubat

Flexible seating helps students stay on task and makes the classroom environment feel more welcoming for students who have inconsistent home lives. Flexible seating can make learning more engaging for all students and help many students with ADD and ADHD stay on task. I chose three stability balls with bases for my students because I had one in my classroom last year without a base, and the students really enjoyed sitting and bouncing while working. I also chose wobble stools for teens to give my kids a different type of seating while at the group table. I've read positive things about the impact wobble stools have on students who require movement throughout the day.
