My project will provide students opportunities to be expressive and share their experiences and knowledge with others. I want to take the basic book report and make it come alive! I would like to use the supplies that I am requesting to extend our science and literacy lessons. The document camera will be used extensively throughout the day. It allows for visibility of documents, articles, and books for all the students. This will increase engagement and provide a vehicle to open up discussions in the classroom. In addition, it will be used by students to share their brainstorming, mapping, and outlines, and stories they have created. They will be able to elicit peer feedback and participate in public speaking opportunities. Reading comprehension is crucial to student success. I would like students to use the Ipad to create movies about stories they read. Students will retell the story to the camera, they could create a preview of the book, or they may reenact their favorite part. The possibilities are endless! They will record each other and use the iMovie program to make their movie. These movies will be shared with their families via our classroom website. These supplies can help enrich and differentiate learning in my classroom and give my students a variety of opportunities to share and grow.
