Funded Oct 1, 2018I want to first thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations. My students now have their own crayons, markers, colored pencils, construction paper, scissors, etc., and does not have to share within the class. My students have supplies they needed to create get well soon cards to a fellow aide in our building who had health issues in front of my students, and was in the hospital for a few days. When she returned, my students had their cards made with the construction paper, crayons, and markers, and wanted to give them to her. She cried, and it made me so proud of my students because they all are so kind and wanted to put their materials to use.
When my students came into school and saw all of the supplies stacked on the tables, they WERE IN SHOCK! I had "that is ours!?" "oh my goodness Ms. Tomblin, can we use it?" I thought they had received a million dollars because of their reaction. They are so thankful every day for their supplies because they do not have access to anything at home like we have in the classroom.
I am so thankful that they were given these supplies because they are so deserving. They are wonderful students and they have been told time and time again that they will never have a chance at life because of their SES. I hope that each teacher they have in life will reach out to the community and receive the help needed to make their classroom have a healthy learning environment.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Tomblin
