Giving Students Access to a Variety of Readers

Funded Jul 14, 2018

Thank you so much for helping me add more Spanish books to our classroom library. My most advanced class has already started reading them. These books are for a variety of reading levels and interests. The students get to pick their free reading time book so it is wonderful to increase my selection.

I already had one girl finish her book about an adventure on a dangerous island and she is ready to pick her next book. I had one student who wanted to pick an easier book to build his confidence back up with reading in Spanish after not having any books in Spanish over the summer. The book about a family who struggles economically in Guatemala and the father having to make the tough decision about searching for work in another country has been chosen by several students.

Soon my Spanish level three classes will be reading them as well and I am thrilled that they have more books to choose. Last year, a book called "Pancho y las momias" was quite popular, but I only had two copies of it so now we can have more students reading it at the same time. Thanks for making reading in Spanish more accessible and more fun for my students.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Beery
