Preschool students spend their day on the move with the majority of their learning happening on the floor. The floor of the classroom is an important part of preschool and is used daily for building, reading, singing, dramatic play and group meetings. A classroom carpet will provide a soft area for these activities as well as a clear visual boundary for where these activities can occur. In addition, students who experience limited mobility require a softer place to spend time close to their peers where the action is happening. Having a carpet, which delineates their own personal space, will provide visual cues to help my students with unique learning needs practice self-regulation during group activities.
