    We so appreciate your generosity!

My kids are going to love reading the new book! And art projects!!

    I sincerely appreciate the support.

It makes such a difference to be able to plan fun projects knowing that I have the supplies and resources. I always spend my own money- and appreciate that others value education.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Travis

  • Sweet Treats for Responsible Students

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

I am so appreciative of your support and my students will be so excited!

It’s been a challenge to motivate students especially since Covid- this group was only in 2nd grade at the time. But, with baby steps and encouragement, and support from others who care -like yourselves, I believe we can make a difference.”

    With gratitude,

I’m so grateful for the support to our Maui students. We have been through so much over the past few years. My classroom, for some of them, is the most stability in their lives. I appreciate being able to make it a solid place with abundance of supplies and snacks and love ❤️ with your help. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏”

  • Sweet Rewards and Colorful Supplies

    Funded Feb 12, 2024

My students and I will really appreciate the snacks and supplies.

Grateful to the State of Hawaii DOE to support Maui schools especially after the tough year we’ve had due to the devastating wildfires in Lahaina back in August of 2023. These sweet treats and colorful supplies are sure to brighten our school year.”

  • Sweet Rewards

    Funded Mar 3, 2023

I and so grateful for the generous support!!!

As teachers, we are always wanting to do things for our students- and usually the funds come out of our own pockets! That is the case here! I wanted to find raise for this cause but was told by my admin that I wasn’t able to since I didn’t have a “club.” This is a classroom not a clubhouse- and it is a place of joy for many of my students! Your donation is assisting me to bring even more joy. They light up when they receive the Aloha Bucks and light up even more when they can get a sweet cold treat on a hot day.

    I can’t thank you enough!🙏😊♥️”

  • Ancient World Postcard, Passports and Posters!

    Funded Nov 1, 2022

Thanks to your generous donations, my students can bring the ancient world to life through their creative work! It's difficult to do any types of creative projects without funding. As teachers we are given a budget of $150/year to buy all the supplies we need for the year. That doesn't go very far when you consider that I have about 150 students in my 6 periods this year. Your support is so APPRECIATED!! 🙏

I was able to provide each student with their own set of colored pencils, as well as have the materials and resources that they need to complete projects.”

    With gratitude,

  • Passport to the Ancient World

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

My students are really loving Social Studies class this year, partly due to your generous donation!

They absolutely LOVE the "rap" songs on FLOCABULARY! It is fun to hear them sing a long to the songs- I wonder if they realize they are learning?!? :)

We just completed the Egypt Unit, and they made some amazing Ancient Egyptian "artifacts."

We are working on completing our "Passports" om our trip to Ancient Egypt. Students are describing Egypt in terms of the "5 Themes of Geography." They know the relative and absolute LOCATION, they know how to describe PLACE in terms of natural features, as well as being able to name some man-made features as well. They can tell you "how people and ideas" get around ancient Egypt. (MOVEMENT) They also can describe how important the Nile was to the people of Egypt and how they were able to predict flooding and grow crops along the Nile. (Human Environment Interaction- HEI) and they can describe some of the ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife, including their gods, Pyramids, the mummification process and more! (REGION)

I am so happy that they are having fun learning this year. I am honored to hear them tell me how much they enjoy Social Studies class. Means so much more knowing that this is their first time back in school full-time since COVID lockdowns began.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Travis

The supplies I have requested for my project will be used to make a "passport" for each of my 180 students with pages where they will describe their "travels" to the Ancient World- Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece and Rome. They will record details of the Civilizations using the framework of the 5 Themes of Geography. I am developing "stamps" for each civilization so that I can stamp their passports at the conclusion of each "visit". We will also be discovering (making), as archeologists, an artifact on each one of our stops. For example, in Mesopotamia, students will "discover" clay tablets with cuneiform writing on them. A resource that a colleague had last year was Flocabulary. The videos for 6th grade Ancient World history were fantastic! The songs help hook students’ interest in the subject. The resources for learning the vocabulary will be great for all my students, but especially the English Language Learners who may struggle with some of the more specific terms. I want ALL my students to access these concepts. After being in lock-down for the past year, it will be great to do some traveling!!
