I work with small groups of students to help them become better readers and writers. Each lesson includes letter work and word work as well as writing. The lessons are tailored towards their needs, with them using magnetic letters to practice spelling words as well as identifying letters and the sounds they make. This helps them become fluent readers and writers. One of the components of the word work requires my students to put their words horizontally on the board. The larger board would enable them to put the four words in one continuous line.
The colorful magnetic letters will help engage my students visually and make word word more enjoyable for them. Using colorful magnetic letters breaks up the monotony of writing with pencil and paper or on dry erase boards. The magnetic letters also appeal to the kinesthetic learners in my class. Therefore, using the easel engages my students with movement and visually through color, in order to make the learning "stick" just like the magnetic letters!
